Fathom Academy’s training program is aimed at reducing the number of first responder deaths and increasing victim rescues by providing a controlled environment that trains for the multitude of scenarios first responders will encounter. The facility allows for repeated exercises and scenarios that may be applied in real world rescues.
On August 21st, members of the Hawaiian National Guard training and assessment staff became the first to test the facility and committed to sending additional troops for Fathom training. Additional municipal and federal emergency response agencies continue to enroll.
In addition to flood and swift water rescue training, Fathom Academy provides various water courses including swift water dive, commercial diving, infrastructure inspection, and a variety of other water safety courses and certifications. The facility may also be used for specific special operations training by request.
