The 888poker XL Inferno Series is nearing the end of the first week, but before they start with the weekend, there were 11 new tournaments on Friday. One of the highlights of the day was the XL Inferno #70 - $20,000 Crocodile. Players paid the buy-in of $160 to enter.

XL Inferno #70 - $20,000 Crocodile

At 6:30 p.m. GMT the $20,000 Crocodile event started and after the late registration period. Tere were 164 players who entered. They created a prize pool of $24,600 with the first prize just above $5,000. The last 27 players of this event would get paid, but all eyes were on the final table.

After "Smithstudent", who won the XL Inferno #68 - $15,000 Breeze on this day, busted in 10th place, the remaining nine players went to the final table. On the final table, the tournament lost "Juanfran1973" (ninth, $492), "Ender112" (eight, $738) and "luckyr1ver" (seventh, $984) in quick succession. The last six players were guaranteed at least a four-figure score.

After that, "wonderdaz14" (sixth, $1,230), "_HiusPeinz_" (fifth, $1,476), "TaeTaes" (fourth, $2,152) and "Cobris" (third, $2,890) busted to get to the final heads-up between "PuntSonPunt" and "lunchbox1980."

In the end, it was Czech Republic's "PuntSonPunt" who finished on top to snag the first prize of $5,289. "lunchbox1980" had to settle for second place ($3,813).

XL Inferno #67 - $10,000 Lightning 6-Max

Once again, the day started with the $10,000 Lightning 6-Max. This time there were just 82 players who registered, with 36 players choosing to use their rebuy option. They created a prize pool of $11,800 with the first prize being $3,588.

After more than seven hours, "LeoJoseCarne" and "toshapiter86" made a heads-up deal. Runner-up "toshapiter86" took the most money, $2,780, while winner "LeoJoseCarne" got $2,588 for his victory.

XL Inferno #68 - $15,000 Breeze

Also, a regular tournament on the XL Inferno Series is the $15,000 Breeze. On Friday, 291 players registered for this tournament, just falling short of the guaranteed prize pool of $15,000. Russia's "Smithstudent" took the victory and first prize of $2,902.

XL Inferno #69 - $15,000 Deepstack Swordfish

XL Inferno #71 - $15,000 Swordfish

The $15,000 Swordfish, also a regular tournament on the schedule of this series, attracted 608 players who all paid their buy-in of $30. That created a prize pool of $16,720 and the lion's share of this money went to Brazil's "LeoJoseCarne!"

The Brazilian also won the XL Inferno #67 - $10,000 Lightning 6-Max earlier this day to become a double winner. In the Swordfish event, he received a total prize of $3,158.

XL Inferno #72 - $20,000 Monsoon

It looked like a Brazilian party on Friday, because the XL Inferno #72 - $20,000 Monsoon was also won by a Brazilian player. This time, "konnhand" snagged the title and first prize of $4,389. In the final heads-up, he defeated his fellow countryman "77portuga77."

XL Inferno #73 - $30,000 Knockout

One of the biggest winners of this Friday was Morocco's "BustiJauli." He defeated a field of 306 players to snag the title in the XL Inferno #73 - $30,000 Knockout. The winner received a prize of $5,921 while British runner-up "3thereal" got $4,437.

XL Inferno #74 - $15,000 Mini Knockout

XL Inferno #75 - $25,000 Friday Challenge

At 8:35 p.m. GMT, 845 players started in the XL Inferno #75 - $25,000 Friday Challenge. They all paid the buy-in of $35 so there was $27,040 in the prize pool. The final four players in this tournament made a deal, where "beny76xx" from Argentina took the most money. He also won the tournament after and received $4,048.

Fourth place finisher "poriferum8k" got a prize of $3,206, more than runner-up "Snake.ru" ($2,920) and third place finisher "khunbaa" ($2,844).

XL Inferno #76 - $15,000 Tornado

Morocco saw two players win a tournament as well. In the XL Inferno #76 - $15,000 Tornado, "B4NKR0LL3R" took the title and first prize of $3,956.

XL Inferno #77 - $10,000 Turbo KO
