New Hero Glamour debuts in Argentina – Launch in India in March

The world’s largest two wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp, has unveiled the new indigenously designed 125cc Glamour at Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is the first time that Hero has launched a two wheeler outside of India, before it has been launched in India.

Launch of 2017 Hero Glamour is scheduled for March 2017. In India, the new Glamour will replace the current model while a hike in pricing is also on the cards. This new launch comes at a time when the company is also celebrating the debut of Hero MotoSport Team Rally consisting of riders C S Santosh & Joaquim Rodrigues – at Dakar rally 2017.

Engine

Hero Glamour, to be called ‘Ignitor’ in Central and South American markets, which was unveiled at a special ceremony at the Law University in Buenos Aires, will be seen powered by an updated BS IV compliant 125cc engine. This engine will now be offering 11.5 bhp peak power which is 25% more than seen on its current counterpart while torque will stand at 11 Nm, a hike of 6% as compared to what the present engine offers. The new Glamour also features the Hero patented i3S (Idle-Stop-Start system) technology.

New Hero Glamour is offered in two trims – Fuel Injected and Carburetor. The FI variant is offered in 4 colours – Black with Techno Blue, Black with Sports Red, Black with Tornado Grey Metallic and Candy Blazing Red, while the carburetor option is offered in 3 colours – Techno Blue with Black, Black with Sports Red and Candy Blazing Red.

Design

Speaking about the styling of new Glamour, Hero says that it is much more sharper and sportier than before. The new ‘V’ shaped headlight, twin pilot lamps, signature LED light guide tail lamp, and all new Y spoke stylish alloy wheels add to the contemporary appeal of the motorcycle, says Hero. It also gets enlarged tank fairing, rear fender and chiseled rear cowl – all adding to the attractive new looks.

Hero MotoCorp sales in Argentina will be conducted through a network of 40 dealers in Capital Federal and GBA. Portfolio in the first phase will include the new Glamour, badged Ignitor for Latin American markets, besides the Hunk, Hunk Sports and Dash scooter.
