WHAT WE ARE TRACKING: Showers and thunderstorms continue through Friday evening, and dry conditions return on Saturday. Rain returns by late Sunday.
NEXT 24 HRS:
By early Friday morning, additional showers and thunderstorms will develop in northcentral and northeastern Iowa and shift eastward. This results in a stormy AM commute for areas along and south of I-90. Some of these storms could contain large hail or gusty winds. Once this activity pushes east of the area later in the morning, additional showers and a few thunderstorms are possible throughout Friday and Friday evening. With cloud cover and a brisk north wind, temperatures remain steady in the 50s. Showers will come to an end later Friday night night with cloud cover decreasing after midnight.
LOOKING AHEAD - 8 THINGS TO KNOW
1. Dry and seasonable (50s) Saturday with plenty of sunshine
3. Rain may mix with snow for areas north of I-94; no accumulation is expected
4. Rain comes to an end early on Monday with partial clearing during the afternoon; rain amounts could exceed 1" along and south of I-90
5. Milder Tuesday and Wednesday with some areas approaching 70F
