SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A mild and breezy day underway across Siouxland in the wake of yesterday’s rain/storms. Temperatures so far have risen into the mid/upper 60s and low 70s this afternoon with west-southwesterly winds remaining breezy between 15-20 mph, gusting upwards of 30-35 mph at times.

Seeing clouds linger through the day although getting some sunshine working back in through the remainder of the afternoon and into the day Wednesday. Could see some stray sprinkles later this afternoon in parts of Siouxland.

Lows tonight fall back into the mid 40s with winds easing through the overnight.

A bit cooler for our Wednesday with highs only into the mid/upper 60s, but seasonal. Shower and storm chances return for mainly the afternoon and evening Wednesday, but look to be rather scattered in nature with an isolated severe storm possible along and east of I-29. However the severe threat looks to be minimal with all modes of severe weather possible, mainly a brief tornado or two, an isolated damaging wind gust or two and large hail. Again, a very small but non-zero threat along and east of the I-29 corridor.

Remaining seasonal with sunshine returning into Mother’s Day weekend. A slim shower chance Thursday though ahead of sunshine returning in full force from Friday and on.

High remain in the low/mid 60s through the first half of the weekend and into the upper 70s for Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Upper 70s and low 80s into the start of next week with shower and storm chances returning by next Monday and keeping scattered chances through the end of the extended forecast as highs remain in the mid 70s.
