Houses, a large number of gravestones, agricultural machinery, orchards, and croplands were damaged this morning as a result of a tornado that hit Geghanist village in Shirak Province of Armenia. The mayor of Geghanist, Senik Martirosyan, told about this to Armenian News- NEWS.am.

"The tornado started at 11:20 in the morning and lasted for about 15 minutes and caused a lot of damage to the community. Seventy to eighty houses are damaged—with the roof, adjacent buildings. Thirteen gravestones were ripped, thrown to the ground, 4 [others] were broken and 15 were overturned. And the wind completely took away the roofs of 15 houses. In addition, agricultural machinery was damaged, cars, trees were uprooted, potato and other croplands were damaged. [But] we have no human casualties," he said.

The mayor added that they, together with a commission that had arrived from the provincial hall, were the damage caused by this tornado so that the provincial governor can present it to the government.
