Tornadoes spotted throughout eastern New Mexico
Several tornadoes touched down in eastern New Mexico on Sunday night.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque reported that tornadoes were sighted in Union County in northeast New Mexico and in Roosevelt County in east-central New Mexico.
Many viewers sent us photos of the severe weather impacting much of the state
John Lawrence took the photo below just outside of Clayton. The National Weather Service says storm spotters observed a tornado in the area.
Meanwhile in Clovis, Action 7 News viewer Angelique Sena snapped a photo of a funnel cloud that was spotted just east of town.
Emergency management officials said no damage was reported in Clovis due to the storms.
Further south near Dora, the National Weather Service says many storm spotters observed tornadoes in southern Roosevelt County. Viewers were able to capture stunning images of the storms as they moved away from Dora, east to the Texas state line.
No major damage was reported with any of these storms as of Sunday night. KOAT will continue to follow this story and bring you any updates as they become available.
