A couple from Macedonia is counting their blessings after winds toppled over a tree onto their house Sunday night.

Dave and Angie Crowe were out shopping when a tree came crashing through their family room and kitchen.

"I couldn't believe it. That oak tree has to be 100 years old and I just never thought it would ever go over," said Dave Crowe.

When they got home around 7 p.m. they discovered the tree in the exact spot they would've been sitting.

"We had our dog with us... he would have been dead," said Angie.

Neighbors looking out for them called the police to make sure they weren't inside when the tree fell.

"It's a blessing they weren't home," said one neighbor.

The Crowes are not alone. Street after street, it's the same story with dozens of trees completely uprooted from the ground.

Residents are now coming together to pick up the pieces from Sunday's storm.
