SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The National Weather Service says survey teams have confirmed nine tornadoes that touched down Tuesday within the range of the agency’s office in the northern South Dakota city of Aberdeen.

The Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/2rnIh81 ) that seven of the twisters were in South Dakota and two were in Minnesota. No people were hurt, but there were several reports of tree and building damage.

In South Dakota, tornadoes touched down near Rockham, Zell, Groton and New Effington. More than one touched down in the Zell and New Effington areas.



In Minnesota, the tornado touchdowns were near Clinton and Johnson.
